Hicks - Judo (Ju-jitsu) - Nov. (Ages 14-55)

Jiujitsu is a Japanese method of weaponless self-defense. Its purpose is to discourage an assailant from attacking the practitioner, but if attacked, to reply in such a manner as to discourage further action. The practice of the techniques will benefit children and adults in coordination, strength, agility, flexibility, and endurance, as well as confidence in a confrontation. The application of jiujitsu has many practical advantages among which are its instant availability and its ability to vary the intensity of the response upon the assailant. Jiujitsu techniques involve striking with the natural striking surfaces (hands, feet, etc.), throwing, joint locking, pressure points, and various other tactics.
