Description: Dive into the fantastic world of Dungeons and Dragons 5.0. Traverse
treacherous crypts, battle vicious monsters and discover riches beyond your wildest
dreams all from the comfort of the tabletop. No previous experience needed, just bring your sense of adventure.
Audience: Teenagers and adults, either experienced in the game or new. It usually is a good
idea to mix experienced players with less experienced players due to the cooperative
nature of the game. Along with that, it will be easier to teach new players if people that are
used to the game are there to assist.
Benefits: Dungeons and Dragons provide a variety of benefits, mainly the four Cs of
education: Critical thinking, Creativity, Collaboration and Communication.
Measurables: Since most of the stories we will be doing will take roughly an hour, the ability
for the players to get through an entire storyline should be what we would measure on if
they got it or not.
Special Materials: Wizards of the Coast provides a free “afterschool kit” for qualifying
institutions (which includes community centers.) This kit will have everything that we need
to start a successful game. Along with that, I already have a large collection of miniatures that can be used for this game.
