WW - Introduction to Drawing II

Continue to improve your drawing skills in this four-session introductory class. Students apply techniques for observational drawing, realistic shading, adding depth and volume, smooth value transitions, and measuring proportions. A supply list is provided to students prior to class. Easels, drawing boards, and newsprint paper are provided for use during class. Class is limited to eight (8) students. Pre-requisite: Introduction to Drawing I or previous drawing experience.

Note:

Pre-requisites: Introduction to Drawing I OR previous drawing experience

What to Bring:
• Pencils: a range of hard and soft pencils (choices from 6H to 6B)
- 6B, 5B, 4B, 3B, 2B, B, HB, F, H, 2H, 4H, and 6H
- HB, 2B, 4B, and 6B
• Eraser: A kneaded eraser is recommended, but a white eraser works great too.
• Sketchbook, or at least 20 sheets of paper:
- Paper with enough weight to handle pencil and erasing such as sketching paper or drawing paper (recommend sizes: 9x12 or 11x14)
• Ruler (for use at home)
• Pencil Sharpener (for use at home)

Optional:
• Charcoal Stick
• White Charcoal Pencil
• Paper Blending Stick
• Tracing paper to put in between your sketchbook pages for smudging
• Non-photo blue pencil or other non-black colored pencil
• 1 Pad of Newsprint Paper (18x24 or 24x36)- Newsprint sheets will be provided (along with drawing boards and easels) during class, but you may want your own at home
