Programs
The encaustic medium utilizes hot melted wax mixed with oil pigments to create milky layers of color and great possibilities for mixed media. In this class we will use encaustic wax medium to paint small wooden houses or boxes incorporating papers, copied photographs and interesting textures to create art pieces as personal expressions. Students are encouraged to bring their favorite art papers, copied (not original on photo paper) photographs and other personal items to incorporate. A kit fee of $25 (payable to the instructor) provides all materials. Wear a protective apron or old clothes. All skill levels are welcome.
